Commercial Pool Ozone Systems

Ozone systems for secondary disinfection in commercial pools and spas. Waterlink Synergy systems generate ozone onsite and inject it into the circulation line, where it oxidises chloramines, organic contaminants and chlorine-resistant pathogens such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia, for clearer water, better air quality and lower chlorine demand.

Ozone Treatment for Commercial Aquatic Facilities

Ozone is one of the most powerful oxidisers used in pool water treatment. Injected into the circulation line, it breaks down chloramines and organic contaminants that chlorine alone struggles with, and neutralises chlorine-resistant pathogens such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia.

Synergy systems pair ozone with UV for even greater oxidation. The result is clearer water, less pool odour, reduced eye and skin irritation and lower ongoing chemical use, with performance that still meets strict safety standards.

Why Choose Ozone

Powerful oxidationOzone is a far stronger oxidiser than chlorine, breaking down chloramines and organic contaminants that chlorine struggles to remove.
Pathogen controlNeutralises chlorine-resistant pathogens such as Cryptosporidium, Giardia and E. coli as water passes through the plant room.
Lower chlorine demandWith contaminants oxidised by ozone, less chlorine is needed, reducing chemical costs, pool odour and eye and skin irritation.
Commercial-grade ozone generationFrom 2 g/hr in Synergy Econ to 3 g/hr in Synergy MP, plus a titanium/quartz corona discharge module in Synergy LTS.

Which System Fits Your Facility?

  • Synergy EconFacilities that need 2 g/hr of ozone paired with low-pressure UV in a PVC chamber.
  • Synergy PlungePlunge pools, spas and pools below 100,000 L, for facilities where space and installation flexibility are essential.
  • Synergy MPSites that need higher ozone output, 3 g/hr, with a titanium medium-pressure UV chamber.
  • Synergy LTSFacilities with high or increasing bather loads that need expandable ozone and UV capacity, from 40 to 120 m³/hr.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does ozone treat commercial pool water?

Ozone is generated onsite and injected into the circulation line, where it oxidises chloramines, organic contaminants and pathogens before water returns to the pool. In Synergy systems, ozone is paired with UV for even stronger treatment.

Does ozone replace chlorine?

No. Ozone works in the plant room as secondary disinfection. A primary sanitiser such as chlorine is still needed to maintain a residual in the pool, but with ozone handling much of the oxidation, chlorine demand is lower.

How much ozone does each Synergy system produce?

Synergy Econ produces 2 g/hr and Synergy MP produces 3 g/hr. Synergy LTS uses a commercial-grade titanium/quartz corona discharge ozone module.

Is ozone included with Synergy Plunge?

Yes. This unit comes with a standard 50 mm ozone venturi kit, which can be used on flow rates up to 250 L/min. There is an option to add a 3" ozone booster to increase the flow rate.

Why pair ozone with UV?

Together, ozone and UV create an Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP). Their reaction produces hydroxyl radicals, oxidisers even stronger than ozone alone, delivering fresher, clearer water with fewer chemicals.

What does the ozone booster pump do?

The booster pump supports ozone injection into the water. Synergy Econ and Synergy MP accept the AOP booster pump kit, Synergy LTS offers an ozone booster pump and injection manifold, and on Synergy Plunge the optional 3" ozone booster increases flow to up to 300 L/min with one lamp or 500 L/min with two.

Are Synergy ozone systems compatible with salt or mineral pools?

Synergy systems are compatible with most commercial pool systems. The Synergy LTS reactor is compatible with salt, mineral, calcium and bromide systems.

Can Synergy connect to a BMS or be monitored remotely?

Yes. Synergy LTS offers BMS integration with fault and status relays, a remote monitoring modem and remote start and stop. Ask our team about options for other models.
